Back Story

Natasha Romanoff was born in 1928 Stalingrad, Russia with the name, Natalia Alianovna Romanova. Unlike the others, Natalia's family mansion was burned down. Taking the lives of her perants and siblings, which leaves Natalia homeless and orphaned. She was saved from her death by Russian soldier, Ivan Petrovitch who raised her as one of his own. He eventually brings her to Red Room along with the other orphaned girls. It was there that she meets the one and only James Buchanan Barnes. The pair eventually fell in love. However, Natalia was promised to another man. She was arranged to marry a Soviet text pilot by KGB. His name was Alexei Shostakov. Luckily, he was told by the Russian government that he was placed into their new operative called the Red Guardian, which means that he was no contact with Natalia whatsoever. During those days, Natalia was brainwashed and given a new life as a professional ballerina. When Alexei died, Natalia was questioned. It was there and then that she began to seek out the truth. She began to remember the Black Widow program, Department X and James Barnes. In her moment of realization, she goes to look for Barnes and leaves Deparment to work as a Rogue agent. It was during one of her missions that attracted the eyes of S.H.I.E.L.D. Seeing the Widow as a threat, S.H.I.E.L.D. sent Agent Clinton Francis Barton to exterminate Natalia. However when it was time to take the shot, Barton refused. Instead, he brought her to S.H.I.E.L.D. defying Director Nicholas Fury's orders. Barton's proposal of recruiting Natalia was rejected. Agent Phillip Coulson, however, gave him a chance to train and change Natalia, then she will be accepted. After being accepted into S.H.I.E.L.D., Natalia was granted an American citizenship. It was then that Natalia Romanova became Natasha Romanoff. Barton was quickly assigned as her field partner and the pair worked together as a duo. Their partnership grew stronger and quickly the Hawk and the Widow became known as S.H.I.E.L.D.'s top agents.
